Bringing personality to experiential copy for Google I/O Connect 2023

Problem

As the senior copywriter for Google I/O, I led the copy for the website and email, and oversaw brand copy for social as well. But the signage was traditionally led by agencies in a silo, which were managed by the Events and Experiences team.

Solution

In 2023, I was finally able to expand my role into the copy for the in-person experience.

  • Partnered with the Senior Event Producer to learn about the timeline and requests.

  • Shared best practices and editorial guidelines while influencing the creative direction.

  • Got hands-on and delivered new OOH experiential copy.

Impact

  • Creative, breezy fun takes on menu names and navigational signage.

  • A delightful in-person user experience.
